Seahawks agree to two-year, $20 million contract with Chargers LB Uchenna Nwosu

Fresh off of arguably the best season of his four-year career, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu reportedly cashed in with a hefty new contract on Wednesday.

Nwosu was selected by the Chargers in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft and set career-highs in tackles (40), quarterback hits (17), sacks (5.0) and passes defended (four) among other categories during the 2021 campaign. Los Angeles reportedly traded for six-time Pro Bowler Khalil Mack last week -- a fellow outside linebacker -- while the Seahawks released six-time All-Pro inside linebacker Bobby Wagner last week.

The 25-year-old Nwosu started 15 of the Chargers' 17 games last season and posted a pair of forced fumbles and his first career interception as well. He's had at least 25 tackles and 2.0 sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons.

After never having played on more than half of the team's defensive snaps in his first three years in the league, Nwosu recorded 782 defensive snaps (67%) in 2021.
